April 2, 2020
The Harder Foundation, as we all are, is deeply concerned about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on employees, grantees and the broader community. Staying healthy and safe is and should be everyone’s primary focus during the pandemic, and we understand that this may lead to changes in how we all proceed with our conservation work in 2020.
At this juncture, The Harder Foundation remains committed to our Spring and Fall grant cycles this year, but in the face of a constantly evolving and very challenging situation that we are all working under, we wish to communicate the following information:
- Again, we plan to maintain our normal Spring and Fall grantmaking cycles in 2020.
- We understand that the current situation is unprecedented and many of us are figuring out new ways to handle commitments most effectively. If you are one of our 2019 Spring cycle grantees and require more time to complete your final report (due April 17th, 2020) please let us know and we will happily work with you
- Some of our 2019 Fall cycle grantees may have shifted strategy, cancelled events, updated budgets or experienced other related Covid-19 impacts to their projects (as related to our grants). Is so, we would appreciate occasional brief updates, as you are able, to keep The Harder Foundation informed of the changes you are making to adapt to the situation.
- For our part, The Harder Foundation will continue to update our website as the Covid-19 pandemic impacts the foundation’s functions and related grantmaking
To our grantees, please know how much we appreciate your hard work and dedication in normal times. Now, however, is a time to take care of yourselves, your families, your friends, and your communities. History tells us that this too will pass, but it is hard to imagine that each one of us will not be touched in sorrowful way, some much more than others. Take no risks for job. There will be another time to re-engage.
